Selection and move tools

1. Choose Rectangle select or press M.
2. Drag from one corner of the area to the opposite corner.
3. Release to select every pixel position inside the bounds.

The editor switches to Move automatically. Choose Done in the context bar when you want to clear the selection.

1. Choose Lasso select.
2. Press and trace around the pixels you need.
3. Release to close the area and create the selection.

Lasso preserves the traced mask for move, copy, cut, and delete. If the path contains fewer than three points, the editor creates a rectangular selection between the press and release positions.

1. Choose Magic wand or press W.
2. Click inside an area of one exact colour.

Magic wand selects one connected region through top, bottom, left, and right edges. It does not select diagonally connected pixels or every occurrence of the colour across the layer.

Move a selection

1. Create a Rectangle, Lasso, or Magic wand selection.
2. Move activates automatically.
3. Drag the selected pixels, then release to commit.

Move layer content

Without a selection, choose Move or press V, then drag. The editor finds all non-transparent content on the active layer and moves it as one area.

Moving cuts pixels from the source. Copy and paste first if you want a duplicate. Movement is constrained to the current canvas bounds.
