Content and navigation tools

Add generated pixel content, reuse parts of a Project, and move around the workspace.

Pixel text

Rasterise uppercase text onto a new layer.

T
  1. Choose the primary colour.
  2. Choose Pixel text or press T.
  3. Enter up to 40 characters and choose a pixel size from 5 to 24 px.
  4. Choose Add text layer, then drag the result into position.

Text is converted to uppercase and rasterised onto a new layer. It is no longer editable as text. To change it, undo and add it again. In a fixed Project, the text is added only to the active frame.

Pixelate image

Convert an imported image into pixel art.

  1. Choose Pixelate image, or drag a supported static image over the editor.
  2. Choose a PNG, JPEG, WebP, BMP, or AVIF file.
  3. Adjust Detail and choose between 2 and 32 colours.
  4. Choose Add image layer, then position it with Move.

The image is fitted inside the current canvas without changing its proportions. Lower Detail creates larger pixel blocks. The tool does not resize or expand the canvas.

Stamp

Place pixels from a reusable Project preset.

S

Create a Stamp

  1. In a fixed Project, select visible pixels on the active layer.
  2. In the Stamps panel, enter a name and choose a bottom-centre or centre anchor.
  3. Choose Create from selection.

Place a Stamp

  1. Choose a preset in the Stamps panel or select the Stamp tool with S.
  2. Move over the canvas to preview its anchored position.
  3. Click to place the Stamp on the active layer.

You can rename a preset, change its anchor, or delete it in the panel. Stamps are stored with the Project and are available only on fixed canvases. Unlock the active layer before placing one.

Pan

Move the canvas viewport without editing pixels.

H
  1. Choose Pan or press H.
  2. Press and drag to move the canvas viewport.

You can also middle-drag or hold Alt while dragging. The wheel or trackpad scroll changes zoom, and a two-pointer pinch zooms on supported devices. Pan changes only your view; it does not move pixels.

Fixed canvases zoom from 50% to 6400%. Expandable canvases zoom from 12.5% to 6400%.
